Can I target my ad to geographic locations?
Your Pay For Calls ad will be most effective if you target the right audience. Where are most of your customers located? If you're a local barber, it makes sense to target your local area. If your services or products are more widely available, expand your reach for potential customers to your entire metro area, your entire state or nationwide.
Does targeting by location affect where my ad will appear?
Yes. The first five spots on each search results page are reserved for Pay For Calls and Pay Per Click ads targeted nationally, by state, and by metro area; the next three are for local ads targeted to a specific city. An ad's position among national, state and metro area targeted ads is based on its relevance to search criteria a user has entered. Location relevance returns ads that most closely match the location information that users have entered.
For example, a user looking for a hardware store in Cleveland would consider a hardware store in Cleveland to be more relevant than a hardware store somewhere in the state of Ohio. Leadmatchup.com would give precedence to the advertiser who targeted the Cleveland metro area over the advertiser who just targeted the state of Ohio.
If the same user does not include Cleveland (only enters Ohio as the search criteria), then advertisers targeted to the state of Ohio and nationwide will display. Advertisers who only targeted the Cleveland or Cincinnati metro areas will not be shown.
Can I tailor my ads to serve different areas?
Yes. It's a great way to position your business with potential customers! You will simply need to create a separate ad for each target area to be addressed.
Can my ad target regional areas (multiple states or metro areas)?
No. At this time you can only target areas in relation to your business location - one city, state, or metro area.
What is a category?
A category is a type of business, or line of business (i.e., Hotels, Attorneys, Florists, etc.). Categories are part of the Leadmatchup.com search methodology. When users enter a search term they are often presented with a set of categories from which to choose. Your ad will appear when a user selects a category in which your ad appears.
What are the advantages of categories vs. keywords?
Leadmatchup.com simplifies the process by using pre-defined categories customers are already familiar with. They've been tested and refined over years of publishing yellow pages directories. You can bid in categories proven to have a high degree of search relevancy. This eliminates the burden of having to test thousands of keywords and keyword combinations.
How do I know what category is appropriate?
When you choose your categories you enter keyword terms and search for categories that are related. You can search as many times as you like to find the most appropriate categories. You can also browse all our categories by selecting broad topic areas and drilling down to more specific categories.
What is a bid?
Your bid is the maximum amount you would pay for a call from a potential customer. Generally, the more your bid, the greater your chance to appear higher in the listings. Our auto-bidding tool ensures that you will only pay 1¢ more than the next highest bidder at the time of a call.
What is the minimum bid amount per call?
The minimum bid is the least amount you can bid for a call. It ranges from $2 to $6 per call based on the categories you select.
How long does it take for bid changes to be updated?
You can monitor and make bid changes in real-time. However, changes to what is published on the Leadmatchup.com network are refreshed only once daily, so they will be in place the next business day.
What is my price per call?
Your price per call is the amount you actually pay for a call. Your price per call will never be more than your bid, and will always be only 1¢ more than the next highest bidder at the time of a call.
What is Auto Bid?
Our Auto bid tool guarantees you never pay more than you have to. Auto bid compares your bid to that of other bidders. You will only be charged 1¢ more than the next highest bidder to stay at the top.
How much should I bid?
Your bid amount depends on how much a call is worth to you. There are number of ways to decide how much a click is worth, but a simple formula may be useful to calculate a bid amount:
Bid amount = (average sale) x (profit margin %) x (call conversion rate %)
This method calculates a break-even bid amount. You can then decide to move it up or down based on your particular marketing objectives.
Our Auto Bid feature is designed so that you don't have to worry about competitors' bids. If you set the maximum price you are willing to pay for a lead, Auto Bid will make sure you pay the minimum amount necessary. Your bid will never be exceeded and it is adjusted downward to save you money.
If I have the highest bid, will I appear first?
Bid rank alone does not determine your ad position in search results. Ad position is also based on the ad's relevance to search criteria a user has entered. Factors such as targeted locations and categories are also used to determine ad position.
How are ads ranked?
Ad position is based on bid rank as well your ad's relevance to search criteria a user enters such as location and keywords (i.e., categories).
Location relevance returns ads that most closely match the location information that users have entered. For example, a user looking for a hardware store in Cleveland would consider a hardware store in Cleveland to be more relevant than a hardware store somewhere in the state of Ohio. Leadmatchup.com would give precedence to the advertiser who targeted the Cleveland area over the advertiser who just targeted the state of Ohio.
Keyword relevance applies when a consumer chooses to narrow their search results by using a keyword. For example, if a consumer performs a search in the motorcycle category in Dallas and then refines that search for the brand Yamaha, then advertisers who selected Yamaha as a keyword would be placed ahead of others in the search results.
Is there a way to maintain the number one position?
There is not a way to constantly maintain the number one position because competitors can change their bids. If you want to maintain the number one position within your search criteria you will need to monitor bids and update yours accordingly.
Do Pay For Calls ads compete with Pay Per Click ads for ranking?
Yes. Since calls are generally more valuable, but less frequent, than clicks an algorithm calculates placement of Pay For Calls and Pay Per Click ads within the same real estate at the top of search results pages.
How can I view the top bids?
When you set up or modify your Pay For Calls bids you will be able to see the top bid in your categories. This will give you an idea of the bid required to get the top spot. However, bids change and there is no guarantee that you will stay in the highest position. You should check your bid status often to maintain your position.
Will I still be charged if I do not get any calls during the month?
If you don't have any active ads, you will not be charged for any calls. If your ads are active and just not receiving any calls, you will be charged a $15 minimum monthly fee.
